Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about the culture and history around sport: the customs, words, objects and shared memories that reward a closer look.
What makes a good pitch
Start with one specific question and explain why a general reader might care about its answer. Tell us the angle, the main points you would explore and what context the piece would need. Strong ideas can be understood without specialist knowledge or access to private information.
Contributions we welcome
We are interested in clear, original work that treats sporting communities with care and avoids sweeping claims. A pitch should distinguish fact from opinion, explain how factual claims can be checked, and avoid recycling another article's approach.
How to send an idea
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary and any relevant background about the proposed piece. A pitch is not a promise of publication; please do not send confidential material.
